    Trying to make rescu media for w8.1


    Hi,

    In preparation to install w10 when it comes out I created Image of my system.

    Rufus does not recognise the PE 5 ISO made with Macrium Reflect Rescue Media utility although it says reads Win PE & Linux iso.

    Below is a shot of the process showing top the ISO "Rescue_REFLEX........" , then in blue is the R.media wizard & the Rufus error note.

    Anybody knows where I went wrong? ...........thanx ...........nick

    HP - Windows 10 - X:\sources>bootrec/fixboot ---> Access is denied.

    You can try creating a rescue media and select Fix booting issues when it is run.

    Although the chances are quite bleak.

    Hi,

    I suspect a hardware fault.

    Did you try making the media again to rule out corruption?

    Boot from the rescue disk:

    Run a disk check on the Hard drive and see what are the results.
