Windows 10: Turn Off Bluetooth When Laptop Lid is Closed

Hello, I am trying to get my headphones to stop automatically connecting to my laptop when the laptop is not in use lid is closed and laptop is sleeping. I DO NOT want to remove the device headphones from my computer because I went through the long process of turning off handsfree mode and I don't want to do that every time I use the headphones with my laptop. I have followed the steps of 1-Right-click on Start then click on Device Manager2-Click to expand the Bluetooth section3-Right-click on the Bluetooth driver and select properties4-Click on the Power Management tabBUT when I get to st

Turn Off Bluetooth When Laptop Lid is Closed

I DO NOT want to remove the device (headphones) from my computer because I went through the long process of turning off handsfree mode and I don't want to do that every time I use the headphones with my laptop. 4-Click on the Power Management tab

BUT when I get to step four, there is no power management tab. What can I do?

 

Turn Off Bluetooth When Laptop Lid is Closed

Thank you for your reply, I found a power management tab for Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) and it does have the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

However, I have found that when it is checked AND when it is unchecked the laptop is STILL automatically connecting to Bluetooth when the lid is closed and it is sleeping. This doesn't fix the problem.

Do nothing is already selected for Choose what closing the lid does
in Power Options, let's try to make hibernation unavailable. Follow these steps:

• Right-click on the Windows icon on your home screen.
• Select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Click Yes if you get a prompt window.
• Type powercfg.exe /hibernate off then press Enter.

See if this will prevent the laptop from hibernating when you close the lid.
