Windows 10: Turn off location icon

    Turn off location icon


    Howdy,

    Thanks to Brink for his good tutorial on how to disable location service here:
    Location Service - Turn On or Off in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

    Settings > Home > Taskbar > Turn system icons on or off > Location is ON.
    I also want to turn it off via registry only.
    Any idea on which key will do it?

    greyed out icons

    windows 10 turn =settings = system icons on or off = 'power' and 'location' icons greyed out

    Windows ten phone , Cortana wont work properly with location history turned off

    I can't find the option to turn my location history on , in my settings under which apps can use my precise location the on and off icon for Cortana is off and says that my location history must be turned on for her to work properly but when I run a search
    in settings for location history nothing comes up

    Sorry but I posted the Bink's tutorial link myself, how could I didn't see the option 4 ?!
    Option 4 only turns off the service from registry! Not system tray icon!
    I want to turn Location system icon OFF!!!

    Maybe I'm not reading this right, but if you kill the service, there won't be any tray icon to display. No service, no trigger to display = no icon. Am I missing something?

    Yes, I already disabled service, but as you can see in the screen shot, the button is ON.
    This button is connected to a registry key, I wanna that key *Smile

    I'm assuming you can't turn that icon off from the settings app, is that correct?

    Yes I lost my hands in an accident and cant turn it off via settings *Smile
    So I collect all my customizations in a single .reg file and with each win clean install i apply my settings with a single reg file run! *Wink
    I'll ask it somewhere else, thanks for your helpful answers *Smile
