  1. Turn off the snapping tool, for one side of the screen?

I'm using two monitors, and when I try to drag a window from one monitor to the other, the window keeps trying to use the snap feature.

Is there a way to turn this off, for one side of my screen, so I can move windows freely from screen to screen?

If not, how can I turn it off altogether?

    Snap Assist

    Hi Cory,

The Snap Assist allows you to juggle apps, arrange open windows, resize windows by simply dragging and dropping them to the edges of the screen. If you don't want to get a quarter screen snap, you can change the settings of Snap Assist by follow the steps below:

    • Open the Settings app
    • Click System.
    • Click Multitasking.
    • You can turn off some of the option of Snap Assist on this window.

If you want to disable Snap Assist, you can turn off Arrange windows automatically by dragging them to the sides or corners of the screen.

Should you have further queries, feel free to post it.

  3. SNAP assist, multi tasking tool not working

Hi T. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator, here to help you.

Are you dragging the first window to the middle of the left or right side so that the cursor touches the edge of the screen? This should snap the Windows in half, or if you drag to a corner snap it 1/4 of the screen, while all of the other open Windows then
become thumbnails you can select to fill the other half or quadrants.

If it's not working this way then make sure it's turned on :

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4343-turn-o...

If it's turned on and still not working then here are the fixes which are working for Aero Snap/Assist:

    https://www.guidingtech.com/windows-snap-assist...

    https://www.techrepublic.com/article/snap-a-tru...

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

If none of the usual fixes work then go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue
with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, is the most stable method to advance to the latest version,
    and solves most problems.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you'll wait to rate whether my post resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Turn off the snapping tool, for one side of the screen?

    Snap (double screen)

How can I make my screen snap if I'm using two monitors? It would be nice if I could right click on the menu bar and have a dropdown option to snap when I have two screens open or double screens. Obviously I can't just click and drag to snap the screen as
you can do with a single monitor screen.

There should be a way to do multiple snap screens with multiple monitors/screens...

    That's my suggestion... Thanks,
