No problem. I did not think, because in the Professional edition the "Require sign-in" feature was present without entering a password.
I quickly tried putting a password but I had forgotten to restart ... After the restart the option appears. *Thumbs

I have followed the awesome tutorials here to kill the Windows 10 Home lock screen and log me in (local account with a password) automatically upon boot... but no matter what I do, I cannot kill the password requirement upon wake. If my display goes to sleep, I am always asked for a password. As far as I know, I have already tried every possible solution here that applies to Windows 10 Home. I need to use the display sleep functionality because at night my tablet, even on the lowest brightness, is like a flashlight.

Accounts Sign-in options shows "Never" for "...when should Windows require you to sign in again?"

Is Microsoft just screwing with people?! I would run Remix on this particular tablet, but it seems to do weird things with apps that had been running before the screen sleep. Things work great on Windows 10 Home except for this maddening sign-in screen... after the display goes to sleep after 1 minute, within seconds if I wake it up I am asked for my password.

Hopefully someone has been able to smash through this. Or maybe just smashed your Windows 10 Home tablet.

Hello mystiron, and welcome to Ten Forums. *Smile

What build of Window 10 do you have installed?

Windows 10 Build Number - Find

If you haven't already, see if doing step 4 in OPTION THREE on the first page here may help.

    Thank you!

Turn On or Off Require Sign-in on Wakeup in Windows 10

Currently on battery, tested the DC setting again in an elevated privileges console. I was still asked for my password both during that session when I let the screen sleep and after I rebooted and let the screen sleep again.

Thank you for doing this! Unfortunately, after applying the .reg file (disable require password on wakeup) I continue to get the password prompt after coming back from screen sleep... both in the same Windows session and after I rebooted. I applied all Windows updates before applying the .reg file to make sure I was on the latest build.

Such a strange problem. I would give up on it, but it seems like lots of other people have run into it as well. It makes me think that there must be some kind of solution. Killing the lock screen and logging in automatically were so easy to deal with in comparison.

What is the brand and model of your computer to see if this may be a known issue for it?

I just tested on my HP laptop build 15007, and using Option 1, 2, and 3 to set require sign-in on wakeup to "Never" is working fine on it. *Confused

Turn On or Off Require Sign-in on Wakeup in Windows 10

It's a Chuwi Hi10 Pro tablet. It seems to get mixed review generally, but I've found it works great... except for the password requirement after screen wake. I'm hesitant to flash it with a restoration image, but maybe that's my last option. Then if I go through all the options you have here and still get asked for my password again after screen wake, I use it for target practice.

Same problem here on a Fujitsu Stylistic 737, tried all of the options in the 'walk through' and I still have the Sign In screen after sleep and screen wake .. No password is asked for, but as this is a local user account with no password set I would expect that.
