    Turning off newly added auto-complete suggestion feature in Windows 10


    How do I turn off the auto-complete suggestion feature that was added to Windows 10 in the past few months?


    The feature, which brings up a small window with suggested words, etc., as one writes in MS Word and other applications (including non-MS applications), is very annoying - in particular, because it hides sections of text just above where I am writing. This interferes with reading what I just wrote. I looked for guidance on how to turn off this feature but haven't found anything.

    I'm still seeing start menu ads dispite turning them off


    Hello BreadedChicken, and welcome to Ten Forums. Turning off newly added auto-complete suggestion feature in Windows 10 :)

    The Occasionally show suggestions in Start setting is only for the Suggested apps shown in the All Apps list in the Start menu instead.

    *Arrow Turn On or Off App Suggestions on Start in Windows 10 Windows 10 Customization Tutorials

    You can also turn off automatic installation of suggested apps to completely stop them. Be sure to also read the blue note box at the top of the tutorial below for more info.

    Outlook builds the Auto-Complete List by saving the names and addresses of recipients in email messages you've previously sent. As the list grows, so does the number of suggestions that are offered as possible entries. You can trim the list by removing one
    or more recipients, or you can turn off Auto-Complete List completely. To do so, you may follow instructed steps from this link:
    Remove addresses from AutoSuggest/Auto-Complete
