Turning on BlueTooth Devices Turns on PC

I have a BlueTooth speaker that sometimes I will connect to my PC for listening to music. If I don't disconnect the speaker from Windows, then turning on that speaker will turn on the computer if it's off. The power management tab for the Bluetooth USB "dongle" is disabled; I've checked all the drivers are up-to-date but still can't figure it out. Are their any other settings I might be missing, or any other method to prevent this?

    :)

  2. Bluetooth connection to a audio device

Have you tried uninstalling the Bluetooth Device from your PC altogether using "Remove Device" then turning off Bluetooth on your PC. Turning off your Bluetooth Device. THEN rebooting your PC, turning the Bluetooth Speaker back on and then turning Bluetooth
back on on your PC and letting it seek your device again?

Other headphones with Win 10 Bluetooth adapter?

    Hi Axel,

With Bluetooth, you may use all sorts of wireless devices with your Windows PC (Bluetooth headphones, speakers, phones, etc.). You must first pair your Bluetooth device with your PC. Here's how to connect a Bluetooth headset to Windows 10:

    • Turn on your Bluetooth audio device and make it discoverable. Check with the device manufacturer's website on how to make the Bluetooth device discoverable.
    • Turn on Bluetooth on your PC. Select the action center >
      Bluetooth
      .
    • In action center, select Connect > the device name.
    • Follow any more instructions that might appear. Otherwise, you're done and connected.

Your Bluetooth device and PC will automatically connect anytime the two devices are in range of each other with Bluetooth turned on.

If you have further questions, feel free to ask us.

Just a guess, my BIOS has a setting for Wake on LAN, maybe yours has something like that which could be disabled. The Bluetooth on Notebooks is frequently part of the Wi-Fi adapter, if one is off so is the other. Some Desktop computers are starting to come with Bluetooth, I have a Bluetooth 'dongle' on one of mine for pairing with a PDA.
