Windows 10: Turning on memory integrity triggers BSOD on restart

From last 3 weeks memory integrity was turned off, when I attempted to turn it on it asks for a restart.On next boot it throws a bsod "attempted write-to readonly memory" and it continues to happen whenever i attempt to turn it on.3 timesThere were no outdated drivers.No information about bsod in reliability or event viewer.Pc Specification Intel core i5 9300HfNvidia Geforce GTX 1650Ram - 16gb256GB SSD + 1TB HDD

Memory Integrity Won't Turn On

I've joined the Windows Insider Programme and updated my laptop to 22H2 as this appeared to be the only thing listed that I didn't currently have. It's installed, but when I tried to switch on Memory Integrity from the settings it still scans for incompatible drivers, doesn't seem to find any and then says it needs to restart. And again once I press restart it gets to the Medion logo (just before the windows screen appears) but just hangs there.

On the suggestion you've linked above, Option 2 is "Refresh or Reinstall Windows Defender". Now if I follow this step and delete the Windows Defender folder in the registry as suggested, do I need to reinstall or will Windows do this automatically when I restart? I don't want to go deleting the folder and then finding that I've shot myself in the foot so to speak.

I tried Option 2 and unfortunately this hasn't worked either, my laptop still hangs on the Medion logo without loading Windows after reset. I have to hold the power button to turn off and restart, then it loads Windows succesfully but still with Memory Integrity off.

Option 3 doesn't seem to be the problem as it's not detecting any incompatible drivers.

I have the same problem. Memory integrity is off -> i turn it on -> says device needs a restart -> restart device -> get BSOD -> restarts and Memory integrity is still turned off -> rinse and repeat

 

Memory Integrity Turn On, Computer will not restart

I turned on Memory Integrity. The system checked for incompatible Drivers. None were found. I then got the dialog box asking if I want to allow app to make changes to computer. I clicked on "Yes". I the got the dialog box saying the computer needs to restart. I clicked on "Restart". The computer shut down and began restart. Computer would not restart. I had to use hard switch to stop computer and then restart. Memory Integrity still off. I tried again bypassing the "Restart" dialog, using the the restart function in "Start". This way the computer restarted. Memory Integrity still off.

I am using Windows 11 on HP Stream Laptop.
