TV as secondary monitor dont work after sleep

Hello there, firtly its first time i tried an TV as secondary monitor, so i trying to understand if its supposed to work like that.

I have an Acer monitor as Main, attached to discrete GTX770 HDMI, and using TV as secondary, attached to Intel iGPU HDMI.
The problem just happens after Windows sleep and TV automatically turn off, loosing input signal. After OS wake up TV stay off and OS loose dual monitor configs and return to single monitor config.

Inverting TV as main monitor will need to manually turn it on, but dual monitor config keeps there without issues.

I tested same TV as secondary monitor at another Windows System and same issue occurs there.

Is a TV input design supposed to cause this problem when attached as secondary monitor?

    Build System: 18362.592

    :)

  2. The TV used as a secondary monitor flickers

I bought a new 50" Toshiba Ultra HD TV model 50U6863DB ( Specifications: Toshiba Tv 50U6863DB - 50" Toshiba Ultra HD TV )

I’m using my Television, between other things, as a secondary display for my two PCs, a desktop and a laptop. Both of them runs Window 10.

The television is connected to the house wifi and communicate with my PCs through “Wireless display”.

The TV works well when used as a television, no problem in streaming Netflix or YouTube and it performs well when used as a secondary screen for my laptop PC.

When used as a secondary screen from my desktop PC, the image in the TV “flicker”: every second or so the image blurs for an instant before going back to normal. The issue remains no matter if the PC monitor is mirrored, extended or if only the secondary monitor (the TV) is active.

Laptop and Desktop PC seems to output at the same resolution (1920 x 1080) and refresh rate (60).

Lowering the refresh ratio output of the desktop PC from the default 60 seems to improve the situation (it makes the flickering less visible) but do not solve it.

The TV specifications claim that the maximum available resolution is 3840 x 2160 but this value is not listed as an option by windows. Raising the resolution from the default of 1920 x 1080 to 1920 x 1200 (the only higher value that seems to be available) crash the connection between the TV and the desktop PC. The only way I was able to reconnect TV and desktop PC after this crash was to Format my PC (advice from Toshiba support team).

Lowering the resolution do not seems to have an impact on the flickering.

The Graphic card on my desktop PC is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970. My Windows and my Graphic card drivers are up to date.

I tried already to reset the TV to factory setting and I already formatted my PC.

I contacted already Toshiba support team, the local team was unable to solve this issue and I’m waiting to be contacted by the head office but I hope to solve the problem before that.

  3. Unable to interact with the content on the secondary monitor

I have three monitors plugged into a evga GTX 1060 ACX 2.0, the system is running latest Windows 10 pro.

Every night I put the computer to sleep. Occasionally, and more frequently the past week, I wake the computer in the morning to find very strange behavior:

    • Whatever monitor is my main display works perfectly
    • Secondary monitors turn on and show the last content they had (any open browsers, programs, etc)
    • I can move my mouse into the secondary screens and see it moving around just fine
    • When I click or do any kind of interaction on those screen, the visuals do not update (again, mouse around moving is fine)
      • Click a window, the window focus never shows; scroll or press a button on a website, doesn't show any changes; click the Windows button, menu doesn't open
    • However, I can still interact with the screens despite not being able to see what I'm changing
      • Drag a window off the screen and it magically appears on the main display; press the 1-Click buy on an Amazon item, receive it 2-5 business days later
    • Changing the main display changes the screen I can interact with
    • Mucking with the resolution of the secondary monitors does not fix the issue but it does update their visuals
    • Display driver details:
      • Date: 2018-11-12
      • Version: 25.21.14.1694
    • I am in the process of downloading NVidia 2019 drivers to see if that helps

The only fix I've found so far (with my limited experience debugging display issues) is restarting the computer. Help!

***Modified title from: Secondary display content is frozen, can still see mouse and "interact" with frozen windows***

  4. TV as secondary monitor dont work after sleep

TV used as secondary monitor through wireless display stooped working

I received today my new television, a Toshiba 50U6863DB. I was able to set it up and connect it to my home Wi-Fi. It worked properly, including using it to stream YouTube and Netflix. I was able as well to connect it to my PC (Windows 10) through wireless display (Right click on desktop, Display setting, Connect to a wireless display and found and clicked on the TV that appeared on the list on the right) and I used it for a little while as a secondary monitor that mirrored my primary one.

Unfortunately the TV screen, while mirroring my PC, was flickering and I started to fiddle with it to solve the issue; while doing so I attempted to change the monitor resolution from 1920 x 1200 (I think), the default, to that of my primary monitor that is 1920 x 1080. The TV and the PC screen both went black.

After I restarted both the PC and the TV, Windows was again able to detect the TV but was not able to connect it any longer (when I try, the TV screen and PC monitor go black for a couple of seconds and after, they go back to normal and the PC says connection failed). After fiddling around more, I gave up and I reset the TV to factory setting, but not even that sorted the issue.

    How can I fix this?
