Windows 10: TV sound though HDMI not working until I open Sound Settings

I have two displays plugged in to my GPU, my main monitor and my Philips 32" TV as a secondary monitor. The thing is, whenever I switch to the TV, Windows 10 does not recognise the TV speakers only the PC ones until I open the Sound Settings Menu. When I open the menu, the TV device suddenly shows up and then the TV speakers work. The thing is, that I have to do that every time I switch to the TV. I have already tried uninstalling the TV speakers drivers through the Device Manager, to no avail. Reinstalling the GPU drivers, changing the HDMI cable.

Hi,

The HDMI might not be set as default. To set this as default please follow these steps:

• Go to Control Panel.
• Select Hardware and Sound.
• Choose Sound.
• Select Change system sounds.
• Click Playback.
• Then select the device.
• At the bottom, click Set Default.
• Click Apply and OK.

If the troubleshooting steps above did not work for you, try changing a different HDMI cable.

this doesn't work there are no devices showing only the speakers there are none hidden or disabled
