Two different BSOD errors after getting the Anniversary Update.

Hi there. I got the AU update two days ago and my computer has been constantly getting a BSOD since. The first error I got was SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED with a failure message for bcmwl63a.sys. I looked it up and saw that it was related to my WLAN card, so I updated the driver to the latest one. Now I'm getting a new BSOD error of PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, except it doesn't give me anything other than that. Hopefully you guys can help me with my problem. Thanks!

2. KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED on igdkmd64.sys after Anniversary Update

Several BSODs after Win10 anniversary update - potential solution

I experienced a number of BSODs after installing the Win 10 anniversary update, ie the one that broke (a lot of) Logitech webcams and also disabled video calling in Skype at least on my desktop machine. At least one BSOD came with
the same "Kmode_Exception_Not_Handled" error code as above.

I physically disconnected the webcam from the computer and since then I have not experienced any BSODS or other flaky performance. The before and after difference is clear as before I removed the webcam it had become almost impossible
to use the computer.

This information is almost certainly arriving too late for most but may be useful for a few.

Peter.

I get "system thread exception not handled" error when finishing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Exact problem here. Confirmed (at least for myself) that it is a problem with Avast. Had to fully uninstall Avast to get Anniversary Update to complete without BSOD and aforementioned error message. Unfortunately, even after using Avast Clear, Windows
Defender would not take over antivirus responsibilities after Anniversary Update completed, and attempting a fresh install of Avast produced the BSOD and same error message.

I have restored to build 1511 and deferred upgrades until Avast issues a fix. Yuck.

I uninstalled the offending programs and removed them from the host file. Does it not show that?

No you're right it's exactly the same. Damn it. Sorry.

I've removed the file for now until I figure this out.

Please attach new zip files in your new replies, that makes it easier for us *Smile

I would recommend to remove these programs
Code: Start Menu\Programs\Registry First Aid 10 Public:Start Menu\Programs\Registry First Aid 10 Public Start Menu\Programs\RegSupreme Pro Public:Start Menu\Programs\RegSupreme Pro Public
These programs are not trust worthy, they find 'errors' on clean installations which aren't errors at all.
They also commonly remove/edit registry keys/values improperly or the wrong onces causing only harm to the health of the file system.

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

Please remove Gigabyte software while troubleshooting, Gigabyte software is known for causing BSODs.
You may also want to remove ASUS software, many ASUS programs are known for causing BSODs too, one of the ASUS drivers causing BSODs is:
Code: Event[2102]: Log Name: System Source: Service Control Manager Date: 2016-08-10T08:02:25.944 Event ID: 7045 Task: N/A Level: Information Opcode: N/A Keyword: Classic User: S-1-5-18 User Name: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: Alec-PC Description: A service was installed in the system. Service Name: IOMap Service File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\IOMap64.sys Service Type: kernel mode driver Service Start Type: demand start Service Account:
If you are using a program like Ccleaner please stop using it while troubleshooting.
This because programs like Ccleaner remove dump files that are needed to troubleshoot.
Or configure Ccleaner to not remove dump files:

Should I just completely remove all ASUS and Gigabyte software? What items should I remove from the startup?

If I remove the ASUS WLAN Driver though, won't it render my wifi inoperable?

Assuming the drivers of the wifi are linked to the software, don't remove it.
