    Two-Finger Touchpad Scrolling (TFTPS)

I have a DELL laptop and I am setting up an HP laptop for a friend. The DELL TFTPS works smoothly but the HP TFTPS is hit and miss. Both DELL and the HP have the touchpad ‘Sensitivity’ set to ‘Medium’ and both machines were new in November 2018 and have the Windows 10 Home 64-bit OS. To compare: -

The DELL touchpad is ‘HID-Compliant touchpad’ with Microsoft drivers v10.0.17763.316 dated 21st June 2006. Both ‘DELL Support Assist’ software and ‘DriverBooster’ software fail to find a later driver during scans.

The HP touchpad is ‘Synaptics SMBus touchpad’ with Synaptics drivers v19.5.35.12 dated 12th Sept 2018. ‘HP Support Assistant’ updated all drivers so there are no later drivers.

Question 1 - In the HP "Settings" there is no adjustable setting other than ‘Sensitivity’ so any ideas how to improve the HP touchpad TFTPS smoothness?
Question 2 - Is the unreliable TFTPS a known issue with HP laptops or is the Synaptics touchpad the problem?

I should say that the DELL is a higher spec machine than the HP but I would have expected that TFTPS is a basic that any laptop should handle smoothly.

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

Synaptics touchpad V1.2 - no option for one-finger scrolling?

    Hello,

I recently bought a Lenovo Y700 running W10. I am trying to get it set up the way I like and cannot find an option to use one-finger scrolling with my touchpad (two-finger scrolling is an option and works just fine).

I am updated to driver 19.0.19.1, but for some reason when I go to Mouse Properties it lists the driver version as 19.0.17.26. I'm not sure if this is related. Here are some screen caps of the driver discrepancy as well as the UI for the mouse, which has no option for one-finger scrolling. How do I enable this?

    One finger scrolling on touchpad

    Hello !

    I just bought a new laptop, a Dell Vostro 15 3568.

I noticed it doesn't have a one finger scrolling feature (sliding on the edge of the touchpad).

In Windows touchpad settings I can setup two finger scrolling (which works), and even 3 and 4 fingers gestures. But nothing about one finger scrolling.

When I go to "Additional settings" it opens the mouse settings, then I go to Hardware > Dell Touchpad > Properties in order to open Dell Touchpad Properties. In that window the "Change settings" button doesn't do what it says: instead it just closes and
reopens the Dell Touchpad Properties, this time without the "Change settings" button. So no way to change anything there.

Also when I read other forum topics about scrolling issues, I've seen that they use a program called "DellTpad.exe", which I don't have on my PC, and which doesn't seem to have one finger scrolling anyway.

Is it possible that the one finger scrolling is a feature that cannot be supported by my touchpad ? Otherwise how could I setup this option ?
