  1. Two installs of Win10 on different drives, won't boot one of two insta

    Hello,
I am not sure this question belongs here, couldn't find an appropriate classification

I had a working Win10 os. Then I bought an SSD and installed another Win10 os and set up the pc to multi-boot. The original OS did boot once or twice until I learned about ahci for the SSD. I think this is when it was no longer possible to boot from the original OS.

So, when I try to boot the original OS (after having set the BIOS to ahci) the machine constantly reboot. The second OS however boots fine.

I have two questions regarding this.

    1. Is this happening because the Original OS was not set up for ahci?

    2. If so, will changing the registry entries having to do with ahci ( on the original OS) fix this?
(I intend to physically reconnect only the original drive to do this.)

    Thank You in advance.

    :)

    Help, Vista Won't Boot?

do you have an hdd that doesn't have important files or is in the raid?

basically what i would do(im a complete n00b at grub and stuff so this probably gonna be a much more painful solution then what someone experienced would suggest) is take ubuntu(grab solaris dvd 3.0 tommorow or download ubuntu from ubuntu.com and burn it) and load ubuntu (by selecting it in solaris dvd 3.0 or selecting the first start option in the ubuntu cd) and go to install(right on the desktop) and install it on another hdd or partition, and it'll replace the bootloader on the boot drive and once ubuntu is done installing, select restart (or you have the option to wait and reboot manually if you want to finish up looking at historyless porn) , and when you reboot, it'll have like 4 linux options (ubuntu, ubuntu safe mode, memtest, and somthing else) and then it should list windows vista as one of the boot choices, and then it'll load vista..

also you can edit the grub file to remove the ubuntu options that you'll never use, change the default os in the list to vista and change the waiting time. edit...
