Windows 10: Two part question on Update to 1903 issues

I tried twice to update to ver 1903 (2) from 1803, and it continually failed. I ended up looking at a black screen for two hours. After I rebooted a couple times, I was again able to use the system, but Windows kept trying to schedule a restart to update Windows. To eliminate the continual reminder, I Paused the Update and scheduled it for a few days later. I was then told I should have either uninstalled Norton 360 OR disabled it before running the update. So the day before the Pause was going to expire and run the update, I disabled Norton and tried to manually run the update, but I was unable to find anywhere on the system that would allow me to kick off the Update process. ??? Once you Pause an Update, does Microsoft not allow a user to terminate the Pause and immediately run the update???


Should Norton 360 be disabled for the duration of the Update?


Is there a way to terminate a Paused Schedule and allow a manual start to Windows Update, or must one always wait until the Paused Schedule time is reached? If there is a way to terminate the Pause, can you provide instructions on how to???

Local profile issue after upgrading to 1903

Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903


As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

USB issue with win10 1903 update

1. What is the exact issue that you are facing with the USB drive?
2. What do you mean when you say "sub-directory link" and "if its saved on a USB drive"?
3. Is the USB drive letter changing itself after the 1903 update?

Windows Feature Update 1903

Greetings! I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. The steps which you have undertaken to block updates won't work for any feature update. Feature updates need to be blocked temporarily by using different steps.

But, I will suggest that you should not try to stop 1903 feature update. Let it happen.
