Windows 10: UEFI boot problem

Hi everybody,


I recently ordered a laptop Acer Nitro 5 from an online shop in spain and i got it today. Very excited, i turn it on and it gives me as shown in the picture. I already a bootable usb with windows 10 on it but there is only UEFI boot mode i cannot change to something else (the only choice). I took it to an it guy so he could use an external CD player and install windows 10 but apparently he said he tried 3 fois but he cannot access the ssd or as he said "the hdd cannot be detected, there is a problem with the hdd". I was wondering if there is any other way to fix it ? I don't wanna get into the replacement process, i don't have time and with the holidays coming it might take a while....so please can you help !!!

The manual I found suggests that CD/DVD is the default option for boot device for the Computer but can be changed to USB etc in the Boot Options, but I guess you don't see that? It does say to turn off Fastboot , if trying to use DOS CD's however my guess is they mean if it is MBR based and not UEFI , so best to disable it anyway and transfer the Win10 ISO Files after mounting it , to a Fat32 formatted USB Drive which should be set Active as well with MTPW.

Convert dual boot to single boot

Solved. The problem wasn't EasyBCD and how I was doing it (or I could do it as NavyLCDR suggests). The problem was the ASUS UEFI BIOS. I had to delete "Windows Boot Loader" from the boot list.

 

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...


That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.
