Windows 10: UEFI firmware settings screen

I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 (32Bit), Since, I have lost access to my DVD drive. The Device Manager shows:





The drive has always been connected and worked fine with Windows 7; the hardware has never been altered or messed about with.

So I decided to check the UEFI Firmware Settings via Settings>Recovery>Advanced Set Up>Troubleshoot>Advanced Options I don't get the option to enter UEFI Firmware Settings; All I get is the System Restore, System Image Recovery, Startup Repair, Command Prompt and Startup Settings

Any help on resolving this issue this will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I had some free time this morning, so I started up the computer and repeatedly press F2 to get into Lenovo's factory restore (OneKey) for Windows 8.1... started up Windows 8.1 and went into settings via the charms, and ran advanced startup - restart now...
there was no UEFI Firmware Settings... so I guess my bios somehow got corrupt or removed the UEFI or something.

Running sfc /scannow

I can only rollback to the factory install as I don't keep the previous updates file and doing that and starting all over is a pain in the *ss

Guess I'll have to live without that option

Guess I can live without that option as I rarely use it, even though it's nice to have

 

Try downloading and installing latest chipset drivers directly from Intel/AMD. This should also update the drivers for the SATA controller and help your DVD drive detected properly.

 

If you have an Intel processor, then you need Intel chipset drivers. Go to www.intel.com and click Menu->Support->Download and drivers->Browse for drivers. Then for chipset select 1) Software, 2) Chipset software, 3) Intel chipset software installation utility. Click Find to see results. If your system is recent, then the latest driver should work, otherwise you must download an older driver that supports your chipset. Post your specs to give you details. If you have an AMD processor, then go at www.amd.com click Drivers + Support and then Driver + Downloads Center. Go to Manually select your driver and proceed as appropriate.
