  1. UHD Resolution for external monitor.....(2560 x 1440)

I have a Samsung Laptop (550P7C) the in-built Graphics Card (Intel HD Graphics 4000: Driver version, 10.18.10.5059) will not "offer" me higher resolution than 1920 x 1080.
    The laptop is capable of supporting 3840 x 2160 (I require: 2560 x 1440)
I have been told by Samsung that this is a "Default Setting" and cannot me upgraded...
I have just purchased a ViewSonic 32" UHD Monitor, (I am a Graphic Designer) specifically for my work, and wonder if your software will operate on my laptop, bearing in mind the default firmware is set as 1920 x 1080.....?
    Please advise. Phil

    :)

  3. Monotor resolution required: 2560 x 1440

Greg....I have just purchased a 2560 x 1440 UHD Monitor, but I cannot change my resolution settings from 1920 x 1080 up to the required settings.

My drivers are up to date, and i have changed cables to support Nvidia which makes no difference.

it seems there is a "default" that keeps reverting back to my existing settings in Intel core i7 3630QM CPU...

...is this built into the chip on the motherboard?

I have tried all options to resolve this issue, please advise. Phil

PS: i notive that the Nvidia drop down tree only shows the first 3 options, not the resolution options...

It seems the Nvidia chip is redundant, because any option to use it reverts back to the INTEL option.
