  1. Unable to access the Microsoft store on Windows 10

So, I've never used the Microsoft store before on Windows 10, but this past week the whole Minecraft RTX beta got publicly released and, being a long-time fan, naturally I wanted to try it. Since it's only available on the Windows 10 edition, through the Windows 10 store, I opened it for the first time the day before yesterday, but it will not let me access it. It seems that the computer as a whole--if it's relevant, my computer is an old CyberpowerPC that I've replaced basically every part on--is not recognizing that I'm connected to the Internet, despite the fact that, of course, I'm writing this post right now on this computer. Whenever I open the Microsoft store, I get the message "Check your connection. Microsoft Store needs to be online. It looks like you're not." With an error code of '0x80072F30'. When I press the button for checking my connection, it takes me to the network & internet status page in Settings, which just gives me a strange, partially dashed line beneath 'Network status'. I'll have pictures attached of all this as well. Looking through my computer's settings & control panel, it seems that it's not recognizing the Ethernet being connected, despite it showing a continuous increase in bytes sent & received under the Ethernet status panel.

I've tried several fixes by now, including rebooting my computer always the obvious first option, running services.msc to check the Microsoft Store services & network connection services, performing a network reset, as well as running a few troubleshooters in Settings, and nothing has changed my computer's status. I would appreciate any advice anyone can give.

For a bit more background, in case it's relevant, I recently replaced the motherboard in my computer and haven't yet gotten around to migrating the Windows 10 product key over to my new motherboard, and I also recently performed a reset on the computer keeping all of my personal files in an effort to fix issues I'd been having with my mouse & keyboard--which, for reasons unknown, only ended up being fixed by unplugging my CD drive inside the computer. Also, while the computer does have a wireless network card attached to it, it's not plugged in right now because I ran out of cables inside the case and I don't use it; the Ethernet is plugged directly into the motherboard.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
