Windows 10: Unable to activate Windows

After having had problems with some things unrelated to this topic, I decided to install another OS onto my rig a while back, which came installed with Windows 10 Pro. After that time, I had installed Windows 10 back onto it, but onto a different NVMe drive it has two slots for them.


Recently though, I had one of the drives the one with windows on it die on me, and I just tried to reinstall Windows. I had some trouble installing it, and have had some issues with the upgrades don't know if its whats happening or not, and now am having issues activating Windows again.


First I notice that it was telling me that Windows wasn't activated, so I went in and checked the settings and it said that something had interrupted troubleshooting, and for me to try later or make sure that I was connected the internet.


I made sure I was connected, and then reboot. Upon getting back into the system I tried the troubleshooting thing again, and it just kept spinning and spinning, so I eventually quit it, and then came to google looking for an answer.


I found on here, someone suggested that when you buy a computer with Windows installed, the product key is embedded into the hardware th SPI_FLASH chip containing the BIOS to be more specific, and to download a utility called "Produkey", and it should give you your key. I downloaded it and ran it, and was shown two keys, one for Internet Explorer no idea about that, and one for my Windows 10 install. I copied it to my clipboard and then proceeded to the settings menu with it, and pasted it into the place it needed to go.


I will upload the outcome of me doing that.


I am not sure what else I can do. I am up for any suggestions. It just really sucks that when I want to start using Windows again, I run into this problem and am currently not even able to finish my "cumulative update", as it just keeps failing.

Unable to Activate Win 8

I was about to suggest run CMD as Admin and then do a "slmgr -ipk xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx" activation...does anyone know if that works with win8?

 

Unable to Activate Win 8

I got Win 8 isntalled on my file server, but I am unable to activate it with the key. Says the key is invalid. Since I work at microsoft I got a retail version from the employee store. I have been doing some reading, and to be able to activate Win8 with the key there needs to be a previous version of Windows installed for it to work. WTF, so you can't do clean installs?

And the box says nothing about Upgrade version. Straight Windows 8 Pro.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
