    Unable to add a family in a family group.


    I ma unable to add my daughter to Family Safety as a member or organizer. I even bought the Family subscription bc the support person told me I need one. I am not sure it's true as it worked previously on the old laptop.I am running Windows 10 though it doesnt really matter bc I get the same error on my iphone Family app.Please help

    I'd like to leave this family(-group) to join another, but I've been seeing this same error for several days now, across at least a couple reboots.

    Additional information: I've sent this account an invite from the other family, and get the invite here. If I try to accept the invite, it says I must leave my current family first. I get the link to leave, but the same error.

    Any ideas?

    Why not set up an admin account with documented password, add it to the family group? Then you can take your account out, and still have (or leave) an admin/family group access account available. Just a thought/suggestion...

    Family Organizer Leaving Family Group

    Hello Lee Wilfert,

    Glad to see you in Microsoft Community.

    • If Mother was the administrator of the Family Group, you can exit the Family Group directly, and Mother will automatically become the Family Group organizer.

      If you want to stay in the Family Group, you need to rejoin, either as an administrator or as a regular Family Group member.

      Visit Getting started with Microsoft Family Safety for more details.
    • If Mother was already a member of the Family Group, you need to remove her from the Family Group, then add it again, and need to select "Administrator" when selecting the role.
    Meanwhile, you can dissolve the Family Group, and then let the new organizer send an invitation to re-establish the Family Group. Visit Leave family group or remove members (microsoft.com) for more details.
