    Unable to change date of birth: case number ***


    I spent a long time with the Outlook Support team Case number *** to try and solve an issue with the impossibility to change the date of birth of my Outlook account. I was told that you can access the details of this case.The conclusion was that they are unable to assist any further, because the parent organizer was added as alias on the child account, which is probably the main reason why the option to change the date of birth is not available even when signed on the parent account. Because of this, I was told that it would be best to contact the dedicated team for Family safety groups

    Hi Alex,

    To change the date of birth on your Microsoft Account, you can follow the steps below:

    • Sign in to
      Your info       on the Microsoft account website.
    • Click Edit your personal info.
    • Select the correct date of birth, and then select Save.

    If the birth date on a Microsoft account says that it belongs to a child, there are different steps to take in regions that regulate what children can do online. You can check this

    How to change birth date of the child account?

    I am unable to change the date of birth of my child's account, which was entered incorrectly.

    The date of birth currently set is 2011 (which is should be 2002).

    I have followed the instructions on this page:

    How to change a birth date on a Microsoft account

    As the account is set to 12 years old, the child is under the statutory age for my country.

    The steps above say to perform the following actions for a child under the age of consent:

    1. Using the adult Microsoft account, sign in to your account on family.microsoft.com.
    2. Choose the family member, select then Manage consent.
    3. In the Manage permissions page of the child’s account you want to change, at the right, select Edit this child's personal info and then follow the instructions.
    In step 3, the Manage permissions page does not show "Edit this child's personal info". instead, it simply shows the below screen.
