Windows 10: Unable to Change Ethernet Speed and Duplex

Hello, Recently, I've switched from wifi to ethernet finally and have been successful with connecting to internet. However, I noticed that my download and upload speeds were really slow 100 mbps compared to my 200 mbps wifi. I'll admit, I don't know much about networking, but I was assuming that I would be able to get way faster speeds than that. From my research, you should be able to change the speed through the network options and changing the "speed and duplex" to 1 gbps full duplex but when I try to change it, it shuts me off the internet completely and refuses to recognize an etherne

so i have a intel pro 1000 pt server adapter and it works fine when i first used it but it was 10mb/sec so i changed speed and duplex to 100 mb/sec and after that it wont recognize that a cabel is pluged in and it have worked fine with my old computer?

 

Loosing internet connection

Under the ethernet adapter settings find speed/duplex in the list & change it from auto negotiation to 100 full duplex.

The solution was to change the ethernet driver property "Speed and Duplex' to "100 Mbps and Half Duplex" setting. If the PC was connected to a network or switch where the end point could not auto-negotiate Full Duplex end points, this problem was exhibited.
Making it half duplex resolved the problem.
