Windows 10: Unable to change location of user folders

To save my space on C drive (containing the OS), I always change the location of the default user folders (Desktop, Documents, Videos, Music, Downloads, Pictures) to a different drive from the Properties->Location tab->Move.

I did a mistake in moving the 3D Objects folder, I gave it the path of my root D drive and hit back. I didn't expect it to save itself since I didn't apply but it did. So basically, the 3D Objects folder is now "D:\" pointing to my complete D drive.





If I try to change it to another folder in D, it says I can't move a parent directory to a root.

If I try to create a folder in E drive and move it there, it says it can't access the System Volume Information folder as shown in the picture.


What can I do to fix it?

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

any more suggestions

On this link, the details show renaming another account. I'm wanting to change the Admin account. It's a good thing I had another user setup on my computer, also as an Admin, because after changing the SID in step 8. And, unable to change the name in step
11. As "Rename" wasn't in the list. I restarted the computer, since the Admin user account name was changed I was unable to load windows. I had to log into my other account, which was setup as Admin and change the SID back to the 5 letters the user name was
titled.

My computer, Admin account, works again.

I wasn't wanting to just change another account user name, which this is possible to do. I wanted to change the main user, myself.

The problem I have is outlined in the article above: Assume that you changed the location of a personal folder in Windows, such as Documents or Downloads, and mapped the folder to another personal folder. When you try
to change the location of the folder again, the operation fails.

Only with the difference that I did not use a personal folder but the parent folder (the user profile folder). Updating the registry like suggested in the article did not fix the issue the Video personal folder is still
mapped with the user profile folder.
