Windows 10: Unable to connect to network

Hi everyone


After i finally upgraded my desktop from 7 to 10 I have been unable to connect to my wifi. I had no problems before upgrading. I can still connect using an ethernet cable.


The error message that cones when trying to connect is sply "unable to connect to network". The troubleshooting is singularly unhelpful.


I have tried:

- reinstalling network card drivers

- disabling 5ghz signal

-changing security settings on the router/computer

-manually creating a wifi network to connect to in the compute

-disabling ipv6

-a few commands in cmd that i cant recall but which didnt help


None of the above achieved anything. The network card is an archer t9e and the router is a virgin.


Next thing ill probably try is setting a permanent ip address, its just been a while since i last did it so it's taking a while to dredge the memory back up.


Any one got any suggestions?

How to set up wireless network connection?

Hello everyone...

I want to connect wireless network connection to my laptop. But I don't know why I am unable to do it.. I am getting some error. I think some configuration setting kind of error. Can you please provide me some steps so that I can get my work done.

Losing network connection

Hello Dear, if you have a laptop or a PC with a wireless network adapter, you can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks. The wireless networks will only appear if your PC has a wireless network adapter installed, the adapter is turned on, and the wireless access point is in range.

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

2. In the left pane, under Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.
In case, If you don't see the network you want to connect to, click Refresh network list. If you see the network but the signal is weak, move the PC closer to the wireless router.

3. Click the network you want to connect to, and then click Connect.

4. If you're connecting to a secure network, type the security key, and then click OK.
