Windows 10: Unable to connect to world.

Hello. My friend and I are trying to cross-play on Minecraft (Win10 Edition), but both of our screens end up showing us the wording "Unable to connect to world," only when we try to join each other's singleplayer worlds. This problem is happening on my PC, but cross-play works perfectly fine on my laptop. I've tried reinstalling Minecraft itself, and I've tried changing my NAT to open, but it says that it's already an open connection. I'm able to join their realm, but singleplayer worlds don't seem to be an option for us, and I'm just not able to keep a realm up, as I don't have any money. I don't know if it matters what states we're in, as the distance might be a problem in some cases, but I'm in Vermont, and they're in Texas. I hope there's something that can help us!

Everytime i try to join my friend it just says unable to connect to world but we can play on servers together and i can join other friends worlds its been like this for 3 days nowhelp please
