  1. Unable to copy all files to USB flash drive

    Hi,

I purchased two 128GB usb flash drive to backup several files. But when the size or number of files exceed a limit - which is not big and it is less than 2000 number of files - it gives an error. Then when I open the drive, all other already-copied files are also missing, although in the summary it shows that ~20GB is used. I tried to format it using different file systems - exFat and NTFS - and even using smaller block sizes. None of the solutions worked. The problem seems to be related to FAT overwritten after certain quota is reached. I tried it on both drives and the results were the same. Unless the quota of the drive is misleading - cheating. Please advise how I can resolve the problem in layman language with clear walk-through steps.

    Regards,

    Hamidreza,

    :)

    Hi Todd,

One way on how to save and move files to a flash drive is by using the File Explorer in Windows 10. To assist you with your concern, to save your movie file to a flash drive, we suggest that you follow these steps:

  3. Unable to open the files on my flash drive on windows 10.

    Hi Kiezan,

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

We understand your concern on flash drive dysfunctional on Windows 10 and I'd be glad to help you.

Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions regarding the query:

    • Do you get any error message, when you try to open the files in flash drive?

    • Can you access other USB devices connected to the computer?
I suggest you to check, whether USB flash drive is shown in the file explorer and try to open the files from there.

This issue could occur due to outdated, corrupted or incorrect settings of Universal Serial Bus controllers on Windows 10.

If you are unable to find the drive in File Explorer, please refer to the suggestions of ThofikhAhamad, replied on September 5, 2015, to fix your issue with flash drive.

  4. Unable to copy all files to USB flash drive

Unable to copy files into USB Device and unable to format USB device

    Hi,

I'am using a Lenovo Ideapad 320S. I'am unable to copy files into any of my USB storage drives (Hard disk or Flash Drives or SD Cards).

Each time I try to copy the files from my local hard disk files to my USB Drives I get a message "You'll need administrator permission to copy this folder" with options of Continue, Skip & Cancel. When I click on continue, I get a message "You'll need permission
    to perform this action".

Moreover, I'am unable to format USB drives as it says "Windows unable to complete Format".

Unable to understand the genesis of this issue.

However, I'am able to copy files from the USB drive to my local drives.

The above issues happens for all types of external drives I try to access through my laptop.

    Please help resolve this issue.
