    Unable to copy details of a process from Task Manager when command-line arguments are...

    I found myself needing to copy the command line arguments of javaw.exe. Usually, this can be done from task manager by going to the "Details" tab and showing the command-line column, then hitting CTRL-C on the desired process. This was working fine until I tried to do it with Minecraft. Nothing happens when you try to copy the details of javaw.exe while you're running Minecraft. The same thing also applies to some processes of MinecraftLauncher.exe.

    I suspect that there is some illegal character within the command line arguments that causes this bug, or maybe the arguments are too long to be copied to clipboard?

    In the meantime, does anyone know another way of copying process details to clipboard?

    Running Windows 10.0.19041.0 x64

    I was also able to reproduce this bug on my friend's machine.

  2. Task Manager Command Line Arguments?

    Hello my name is Bradford and I'm an Independent Advisor for the Microsoft Community and I will try to resolve your question with Windows 10 task manager options.

    I just did some research as well and you're correct the available literature confirms that command line arguments aren't available, and better said aren't recognized by Task Manager.

    I did some experimenting myself invoking Task Manager with arguments from an elevated command prompt and despite the arguments, Task Manager launched and behaved with no changes.

    However, there are several free replacements to task manager which are fully configurable. Because I'm not familiar with your exact needs, after noting the disclaimer, please visit the link below which describes and reviews several popular Task Manager replacements
    some of which do can be configured.

    Task Manager Command Line Arguments?

    Rather low priority and eccentric inquiry.

    I'm looking to see if anyone knows of ways to control the launch of Task Manager (taskmgr.exe) with various visual options.

    In my case *every time* I run TaskMgr I do the following manually, and would love to have it automated with some command line switches in a shortcut:

    * Show More Details

    * Show Performance Tab

    * Show Summary View

    In essence I keep the TM window in the summary view somewhere on my desktop (usually in the TLH area beside the Desktop icons).

    At least it does remember both it's last window placement and that it launches with Show More Details; but it doesn't remember anything else.

    I've found no references to any command line arguments for it, nor does taskmgr.exe /? display any options.

    Thanks in advance for any help!

  4. Unable to copy details of a process from Task Manager when command-line arguments are...

    Get elevated process list in command line

    Is there a cmd or powershell command to know if a process (any process) is elevated or not? Or at least a list of running elevated processes with process id?

    I do know that you can get the list in task manager details page. There is a field called 'Elevated'.

    But I want that information in command line. Command prompt or powershell doesn't matter.

    I've been searching this everywhere and i'm unable to get it.

    Thanks in advance!
