Windows 10: Unable to factory reset my PC

The problem

Hi guys, I know this question's been resolved thousands of times and there's hundreds of threat, however, that being said, I have searched for a solution for around a month now and still haven't found one. My computers around 5 years old, however I have only been recently having issues with it. Before this it has ran smoothly and has loaded and application within seconds.


Around a month ago my computer started showing signs of tiredness. I couldn't really launch many games, with steam firstly not responding, and then my whole computer not responding, causing it to freeze for a long period of time. This has now got worse, and occurs every time I try to launch a game. As well as this, I am also having issues with:

- The time it takes for my pc to load

-The time it takes for me to be able to enter my password

- The time it takes for my computer to allow actions on the desktop

-Launching any application

-The time it takes for my computer to allow me to shut it down


I know the obvious solution to this is to do a factory reset, and I've tried this multiple times. Every time I do this, I get an error saying that it has failed. I have tried both the entire wipe option, and the keep files option- neither work.


I've watched videos on command prompts that can be used to factory reset, however none of these prompts seem to work. I have no system restore points, and my automatic ones have disappeared for some reason. I also don't have a USB memory stick to find solutions this way.


Does anyone have any solutions to this? Surely I'm not the only one who has been having issues with this. As I said I've searched dozens of pages on the internet and have not found any obvious solutions. At this point, I'm not fussed about keeping any files, I just want to wipe my PC so I'm able to actually use it again.

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

To Reset you’re PC,

* On your login screen, hold Shift button,
then right click on Power button and select

SURFACE PRO 3 RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULTS PROBLEM

The camera caused a system freeze every time it was activated so I thought why not restore.

• I attempted to reset my Surface Pro 3 to Factory defaults.
• The Surface Pro made it to 1% then crashed.
• Now it is in a reboot loop.

I have tried several times and now it gives an "Unable to reset your PC. A required drive partition is missing" error.

Do you have any suggestions on how to make it work again?
