Windows 10: Unable to find the DVD drive on PC after Windows updates

I've been losing my Slimline DVD drive after Windows update

previously I went back to my last good restore point and it works until Windows updates again

Looks like I have version 1803 now and it says I'm nearing the date where my version won't be supported any longer

Well again I tried to go back to the old restore point but now I can't go back to my restore point because it just shows the last update for a restore point

I've tried deleting my DVD drive but when it reboots I get the Dreaded somethings wrong with your drive Yellow Icon

Windows found the problem, said it repaired it, then told me to reboot my PC, but after I did I still didn't have the DVD drive

I really don't want to wipe the computer and start all over when it appears something is conflicting with my DVD driver

Help please?

DVD Drive issues.

The games used to run, now apparently the disks don't even read.

Go to Device Manager and remove the DVD
Scan for hardware changes and update driver as OS suggests

Still not working?

1) Clean the heads.
2) Run a diagnostic program on the drive.

Nothing else has changed about your system aside from the OS?

Revert to XP Home, assuming you don't find the source of the problem in steps above.

Step 1: Try updating the DVD\CD-ROM drives from device manager.

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• Expand DVD\CD-ROM drives .
• 
  Right click on the driver and select
  Update Driver Software.
  
• 
  Restart the computer.
  

Step 2: I suggest you to check and install if there is any latest firmware update for DVD drive from the computer manufacturer.

Windows 10, DVD drive and USB hard drive failing to work

As you are unable to detect the DVD/ CD drives after an Windows update, please be informed us the latest update being installed.

I suggest you to uninstall the latest update and check if you are able to detect the drives.

Steps:

• Right click on the Start button from the desktop and select
  Programs and Features.
• Locate the update, right click on it and select Uninstall.
• Restart the device and check.
