Windows 10: Unable to install "2021-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 KB4598242" update

About 4 days ago, I came across a random bluescreen while working with my personal computer. It seemed like a new update was available so I immediately started the installation process. The status bar reached 100% but then suddenly failed with an error code of "0x8007045d" Corrupted update file? .


New updates can be installed properly though, which leads me to believe that the specific update is problematic. I tried installing the update manually Microsoft Update Catalog , but that didn't work out either. Resetting the windows update components was unsuccessful as most of the terminal commands were referring to non-existing directories on my machine.

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

V 10.0 build 10240

Maybe try with the Windows update mini-tool, found here http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/t...dows-10-automatic-updates-and-spyware.218745/ , thanks to Mussels. it installed perfectly for me last night.
