Cisco VPN client error on windows 10 enterprise

Windows 10 Cisco VPN issue

Problem

- error 440 driver failure or

- error 442 failed to enable virtual adapter

- error 27850 “Unable to manage networking component,

operating system corruption may be preventing installation”


Solution

Install DNE - deterministic network enhancer from the below URL (You need to fill the form to access the download URL)

  Install VPN client
  
• 
  Regedit- go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>Services>CvirtA
  
  Edit: DisplayName value from this: @oem38.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco VPN ..
  TO:
  
  Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows.
  
• 
  Retry your VPN connection
  
• 
  If Issue persist
  Re-Install DNE
  

This should solve your CISCO VPN client 5.x on WIN10 64bit.

Hi,

I spoke to Cisco Technical Support earlier over the phone, to ensure they are aware of the issue. Unfortunately there is no official fix currently for the problem, and they are working on it. If you search for "Cisco VPN Windows 10" in Google you can find
unofficial fixes but I would recommend taking caution in using them (they may pose security risks). Personally, I would suggest trying to use ShrewSoft VPN client in place of Cisco VPN client until Cisco comes up with an official fix.
