Windows 10: Unable to install Visual Studio Code Editor on my Windows 10 PC

    Unable to install Visual Studio Code Editor on my Windows 10 PC


    I downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio Code Editor. When trying to execute the install file, I get the error message that the file is corrupt and get another copy. I downloaded the install file from three different sites including the Microsoft Store and I get the same results.

    I tried installing on four Windows 10 PC's and I get the same error message. This is not the only application that has failed to install on my Windows 10 PC's. I ran the Microsoft Troubleshooter and no problem was detected. I also tried a number of third party file extractor programs 7 zip, winzip, winrar and I get the same results.


    I would appreciate any assistance.

    Follow the steps on this line to prepare your system and for installing Visual Studio

    Please Note, choose the Community Edition, it is totally free and full Featured

    You do not need to worry about Visual C++ Redistributables those have nothing to do with coding in C or C++ at all

    When visual Studio finishes installing you will see a screen asking you how you would like to set up Visual Studio, choose C/C++ Programming and the initial Setup will do the rest for you to get the IDE ready for C/C++ Programming
