Windows 10: Unable to install Windows 10 Feature Update 20H2; consistently fails with 0x80242016 error

I have failed trying to install the update several dozen times. This is Windows 10 Pro. I have tried many of the suggested remedies with no success. This includes: trying from a clean boot; resetting Windows updates using an automatic script from yourwindowsguide; clean up image with dism completes with no errors; file system check with sfc completes with no errors; using Windows update troubleshooter; deleting software distribution folder; inline update/upgrade using media creation tool; offline update/upgrade using image on USB drive. There is no error log file in the windows/logs/setupdiag folder, I have downloaded setupdiag and run it manually: it goes through the various rules and finds nothing and just creates a 0 byte log file. There are log files created in the Panther folder. The errors in the setuperr.log don't help me much in resolving this. Here are the first few errors:

Error with update for windows 10 0x80242016

I have installed windows 10 1903 by clean way and tried update operating system, but after all windows updates i have checked the update list and seen that pic



but it turned out already have installed that update in "installed updates"



So the main question is "do i need reinstall that update or it installed correct and everything is okay?"

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time
