Windows 10: Unable to login in safe mode

You responded to a question from Feb 5th about this problem. I tried your solution & it did not work & resulted in this response: "The boot configuration data store could not be opened. The requested system device cannot be found." Initially, I tried to Safe Boot my Dell XPS 8900 system & get presented a screen asking for a password. I have no idea what password it's asking for. I tried my msn.com password which was no help. I've tried using the DVD to repair the pc but again it fails, even the advanced option results in a failure. I'm a version 1909 of updates. Is there any way of simply trying to reset all boot options to just simply reinstall W10 OS? I've tried a reinstall using the DVD media & it fails too.


I hate to lose all my files but if that's what it takes, so be it, I just need to get this system working again. ANY HELP, will be appreciated . . . Thanks . . .

Password not accepted in Safe mode

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

Have you tried all the above steps suggested by Sangeeta Sarkar on September 13, 2015.

I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

• Are you trying to login the Microsoft account or the Local account in safe mode?
• Did you try with only safe mode or safe mode with networking?
• What is the critical error you are getting?

If you are using Windows 10. To go to safe mode you have to follow the below steps.

If you are able to go to login screen in normal mode try the below steps to go to safe mode with networking.

• 
  At the login screen click on the power symbol.
  
• 
  Hold SHIFT + Click Restart.
  
• 
  After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.
  
• 
  Select advanced options under
  Troubleshoot screen.
  
• 
  Click on Startup Settings.
  
• 
  Click Restart and follow the onscreen steps to go to
  Safe Mode with networking and check if you are able to login.

Window 10 unable to login with normal and safe mode with correct password

Hi Team,

Today i stuck to login on windows 10 with correct password, i follow same on safe mode but it does not work.

I tried with safe mode with Network but no luck.. Below steps i followed for safe mode...

Troubleshoot> Advanced Options> Startup Settings> Restart>Safe Mode with Networking.O

Here i re-enter the password and it doesn't work.

Please suggest...

I understand that as repeating the basic problem. Is that what you mean? I can't tell you why- some sort of corruption- hence all the steps I'm suggesting. Please try each in turn.

The first are to check for basic forms of corruption and so proceed onwards in order.
