Windows 10: Unable to login to minecraft

I have been playing minecraft for a very long time, about 9 years. I've never had a problem logging in until a couple months ago. It said my password was incorrect, which I don't know why it would be since it hadn't changed in years. But I changed my password and went on with it, everything was fine. About a month ago, it said my password was wrong again, which I also don't know how that could be true because I wrote down the new password. So I went to try and change my password again. I was on minecraft.net because that's where it takes you after you hit forgot password. I typed in my minecraft.net username and password, and now it says that username/password is incorrect. Therefore, I hit forgot password for minecraft.net and put in my email to get a link to change that password. I have not received an email, I have requested for the link to be emailed to me numerous times and on different days. I still can't get an email. There is a link that says click here if you're not getting the email, so obviously I click that. It was no help, just told me to check spam folders and such, which I had already done because that's the obvious thing to do. I even had my sister go on her account from my laptop and change her password and everything worked fine, so the issue can't be my laptop. I have called the microsoft phone number but that didn't help, just sent me here where I'll just have to wait on help yet again. I have done everything that I can think of and nobody has been able to help. I also do not have the transaction ID because the original email used to buy minecraft was my father's and he does not have that email anymore. He also does not have the credit card used to buy it anymore. Everyone in my family that I've talked to about it believes that someone hacked my account and changed the email linked with it. I also believe this could be true, and I wondered if there is a way to get my account back if that is the case.

• What is the Windows 10 Version and Build installed? (Type winver
  in Windows search/Run command)
• Are you signing in with the same Microsoft Account, you used at the time of purchase?
• What is the complete error message are you receiving while login?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps and check if the issue persists.



Step 1: Reset the app.

1. Press Windows + I key to open Windows
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Apps and select
   Apps & feature from the left pane.
   
3. Scroll and look for the Minecraft app.
   
4. Select the app and click on Advanced option.
   
5. Click on Reset and once you see a tick mark, then relaunch and check.

Homegroup For Minecraft Servers Or What?

It looks as if the existing minecraft server will use the new system without modification - It needs to be able to access the computers on the network in a two way link, which is the standard for Workgroup and Homegroup

It's not something I have any direct experience with but a quick read suggests to me that you will not need to do Much if any reconfiguration of the existing server

 

Unable to open Minecraft

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

• Are you using Minecraft app downloaded from Store or Minecraft program?
• Do you receive any error?

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall Minecraft and check if that fixes the issue.

Also try to download and install the display and chipset drivers from the manufacturer website.
