Windows 10: Unable to Open a Microsoft Developer Account when location is set to New Zealand

Hi there


I am posting this as a last resort to get some help, I have already contacted MS Support but we are just going around and around in circle because they are not listening to our issue.


We are unable to open a Microsoft Developer Account when the location is set to New Zealand, I have tried various different details and credentials and have found that is the issue. Opening one with my location set to Australia works.


The steps below to reproduce are:

• Click "Sign up to Microsoft Developer Account
• Login with Microsoft Account
• Choose my Location (New Zealand)
• Choose type of account (Company)
• Put in my contact Details
• Put in Company Approver Details
• Click next and then I get the error message (Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later.)

Could someone please assist me with this? The standard MS Technical Support are unable to help me. The error details are as below:

We have had a Support Ticket open for weeks now but can't seem to convey that there is a serious issue here, presumably no one in New Zealand are able to open an account. This is unacceptable.

Unable to set up Microsoft Account

Settings can't be opened using the built-in administrator account

Unfortunately I have the same issue as Dabz from upgrading win7 to win10.
I've tried opening settings using all the suggested methods and it will not load using my account with Administrator access nor the built-in Administrator profile. I also tried other methods not listed such as using Run. Control panel is just a stepping stone to add users in Settings.
I'm also having explorer.exe issues, which I believe is preventing Settings from loading.
Using cmd (Admin) I successfully created a new user profile [and granted admin access also using cmd (Admin)], however win10 will not allow this account to log on. win10 does not list this new user within control panel but it does in the start menu. win10 will not allow to log in or switch to the new account via the start menu either.
I can access settings in Safe Mode but this will not allow me to create a new account.
Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Windows 10 Calendar Dates Offset - New Zealand

Hi Jenith,

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately, the same issue is present on the new account I created.

These are the steps I went through:

• Created a new outlook address and account through Settings>Accounts>Family & other users>Add someone else to this PC.
• Signed into the newly created account and linked the new email address to the Calendar app.
• Selected "More calendars" from the bottom-left corner of the calendar app and selected New Zealand from the list of holiday calendars.

The dates in the newly created calendar were all offset by one day.
