Windows 10: Unable to retrieve old files of Turbo Tax after resetting Windows 10

I had TurboTax from the past 7 years on my PC with Windows 10. It got wonky so I had to reset it. Now none of the shortcuts will work and I had substantial progress on my 2018 return. The Windows 10 reset says it will keep your files, but apparently not.

Computer crashed. Had to reset. Now can't find my Turbo Tax info. Completed but never sent to IRS. Please tell me I can still find it on this computer-somewhere-somehow or All Is Lost!!!

Method 1:

I suggest you to perform a clean boot and check. Setting the system in a clean boot state will help to identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, you may have to uninstall and re-install the
turbo tax 2015. Check if it helps.

To uninstall the software follow these steps:

  Right-click on
  Start Button and click on Programs and Features.

  Right-click on the
  turbo tax 2015 and click on Uninstall.
  

Note: Make sure you have the installation media for
turbo tax 2015 before uninstalling it.

Windows 10 Installation problem with Turbo tax disc

To better understand the concern, kindly provide us the following information:

• Are you getting any error messages when you insert the installation disc?
• Are you getting any error messages when you attempt to install Turbo Tax?
• When you insert the installation disc of Turbo Tax, can you see the installation file on File Explorer?
