  1. Unable to run programs from recent file list on taskbar

I have always launched programs from the taskbar by right clicking on them, selecting the file I want to use and clicking on it. For example if I right clicked the Excel shortcut on the taskbar I got a list of recently edited .xlsx files. I would click on the one I wanted to see/edit in Excel and Excel would launch and open that file. Lately when I try this nothing happens. Excel does not launch and there is no error message. If I go to that .xlsx file's location in the file explorer and double click on it then Excel launches with the file. If I just click on the Excel shortcut on the taskbar Excel will launch and I can select that .xlsx file from the recent list and it will open. This is now a problem with all the shortcuts on the taskbar: Word, Adobe, Notepad, etc.

    :)

  2. Recent File List

that's all off already dude lol, I'm really surprised there is no fix for the recent files list/MRU in the file menu of programs haha

I appreciate the help, MS really needs to implement a Group Policy or a string that can do that for all programs installed

you get the idea. ( too lazy to put it in a for loop and test it.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.
