Windows 10: Unable to Scan to Computer

I am trying to scan to my computer, and I keep getting a message saying "Make sure the printer software us installed on your computer and that "scan to computer" is enabled. I have an HP Envy 4501 All-In-One. I have tried troubleshooting, and it says it cannot find the problem. This just started about a week ago. And there is an app I can use, however, it does not save correctly. After saving, it cannot be opened.

My HP Envy 4524 printer set up using HP website and prints fine using wireless connection. However, when attempting a scan printer window message saying no computer found. I have read various suggestions indicating web scan may need to be enabled on
my laptop, but the steps suggested could not be followed as I think they may refer to an earlier version of windows. Can anyone suggest how I might get my scan to computer enabled using windows 10?

Hi.

Restart the computer and the printer can restore the lost scan connection, to repair this failure I leave the following steps:

• Turn off the printer.

• Make sure that the printer power cord is connected directly to a power outlet and not through a surge protector or power strip.

• Close all running programs on the computer and turn off the computer.

• Turn on the printer.

• Turn on the equipment.

• Find the model name of your printer in Windows and then click on the name of the printer in the results list.

• If the HP Printer Assistant opens, click Scan a document or photo or Manage scan to computer, and then make sure the checkbox next to Start Scan to Computer automatically is selected when you log in to Windows.

• If HP Solution Center is opened, click Scan Settings to see the status of the scan connection, settings, and preferences.

• If the name of your printer is not in the results, go to the step to install the HP software for your printer.

• Try to scan.

By default, scans are saved in a Scans folder inside the Pictures. Here are the steps on how to get there:

• Press Windows and type pictures
• Click Pictures and double-click the Scans folder.
