  2. Hmm, I just noticed that I cannot connect to any other computer on the network either. I get the same error trying to connect to my laptop that I do when I try to connect to the \\LEDESMA-SERVER. I don't know if that's relevant or not.

Try rebooting all PC's, U-server, your modem/router and when applicable any switch as well. Sometimes when I have serious network issues because of some tweaking, I do an all networked device reboot. May take some time, but just to be sure your infrastructure is working properly.

I use the following reboot cycle for all devices:

First start shutting down all devices in reverse cycle order from below:

    1st. Modem/router
    2nd. Switches
    3rd. Servers
    4th. PC/Mac's

Taking a short break now, so I hope perhaps others may chime in as well. Good luck and report back here.

    Untill later, Cheers

When running a DHCP automatic IP, as you have done so in your screens, please uncheck your option and set it to Default.

I never have used LMHOSTS myself, for my network connected devices, so can't say much about that.

Perhaps a Windows 10 poweruser here on the forums?

    Cheers

  6. Ok, so my router had a firmware update so I updated that and performed the shutdown sequence you ordered, no change.

As far as the DHCP automatic IP, you want the settings to look like this?

Yes, change the IP static number within the free (outside DHCP to prohibit multi IP conflicts) range - checked router settings? - you are using for your network i.e. 192.168.1.110, using all other settings alike your screen. Check router IP - Gateway - for assurance.

Also check the "validate settings upon exit" option here. Just an extra check.

The IP is within the available range. I'm not the best networking guy out there. I don't know exactly what a gateway is or how to check it for assurance.

    !!! PLEASE DISREGARD !!!

    1. Your Gateway IP is 192.168.1.254, so change that in the network settings for all adapters. The firmware update changed it to modem/router DEFAULT!

OR CHANGE IT BACK TO 192.168.1.1!

    If NOT then this:

    2. Change the IP - static? - for U-server to a lower IP, or is it DHCP connecting with your router? Sometimes my own modem/router has the .253 & .254 multi-IP conflict. I have it set to its default at 192.168.1.254 IP.

Again, just to rule things out of your issuing options.

EDIT: used .2.1 instead of 1.1 which is the wright setting for Gateway IP!

    !!! PLEASE DISREGARD !!!

    NOTE!:

After each firmware update you have to manually reset the GATEWAY back to IP 192.168.1.1 because 192.168.1.254 is the DEFAULT for your modem/router.

That's why I never change it. After I got a new modem/router due to change of ISP, I 'simply' changed all adapters to my new GATEWAY settings. Running router DEFAULT.

  12. I have to head out to dinner but I'll be back in a few hours. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this gateway thing. I was able to change the IP of \\LEDESMA-SERVER to 192.168.1.182 but it didn't change anything as far as my ability to connect to it from my desktop.

Check: what's your current GATEWAY IP atm after the firmware update? Perhaps I misread your screen.

Open a command prompt: copy-past "ipconfig" into your command prompt.

I'm in the time-zone of The Netherlands, so enjoy your dinner and perhaps I'm still insomnia by the time you get back! *Shock

I'm sure TF will manage to tweak your issue! *Cool

For now, please disregard my posts #22 & #23!

Check your gateway IP first please, so I can get back on track myself again. *Think
See quoted string above to enter after the prompt.
