    Unable to switch user without signing out Windows 10 Pro


    Hello,


    Recently I upgraded one of our Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro by using Windows Media Creation Tool. Everything works perfectly but when I want to switch users, I select the Switch User option, but instead of switching, the system completely logs the current user out.

    We have other Windows 10 Pro systems running on our domain, that were pre-installed when we bought the computers, and they can switch users without any problems, but this one is the only one that was upgraded from Windows 7 Pro.


    Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

    Can't sign out or switch users in windows 10

    Hi,

    Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

    If you are willing to switch between user try the steps provided below and see if it helps.

    • Press Alt+F4.
    • This will open shut down window.
    • Click the down arrow key and select Switch user from the list.
    • Hit OK and it will show you other user account present on the PC.

    How can I switch users in Windows 10?

    This advice took me back to the same user's sign-in screen; from there I was unable to get back to all users in order to sign in to my own account. Luckily I knew the other user's password and followed another person's advice to click on account pic and
    switched from there. If I didn't know someone else's password, how can I get back to main sign-in screen for all users? The screen was stuck on the previous user and I couldn't get anywhere.

    Fast user switching signs me out


    I have 3 local user accounts. When I try to switch between them, my apps are closed and I get signed out.

    I've tried the 6 different methods in this tutorial The Switch User option does not appear in the option list in response to Ctrl+Alt+Del. It does appear in the list when Alt+F4 is pressed. But whichever of the 6 methods I use when switching, the current account gets signed off.

    I just installed the system (build 10240) a day ago, and have done very little to it so far.

    Has anyone else had problems with user switching?
