Unable to transfer license to "new" PC

    Hello,

Recently I purchased a few new components for my computer, which include a new Motherboard (B250M from Gigabyte), 16GB DDR4 memory, an i5-6500 and a 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD,

I wanted to boot on the M.2 so I had to reinstall windows, I have a digital license for Windows 10 Pro on my account, but Windows refuses to let me transfer it from my SSD (Which is still plugged into my system) to my M.2

The "old" device does show up in the list when I say I recently changed hardware, but then it says it cannot reactivate windows and to try again later.

Is there something I must do in order to transfer/reactivate Windows?

    :)

  2. Transfer Win 10 license to a new PC

    Hello,

I bought a new PC and read that I can transfer my Windows 10 license to it and I have a few questions.

    #1

Few years ago I used Win 7 Pro license to install my two PC's.

When FREE update came I upgraded both of them to Windows 10 x64 PRO.

Yesterday I assembled a new PC which will replace one of them and I want to transfer the license to it from the one it is replacing.

The question is if I transfer the activation license will I lose the activation on the second PC or not?

What are the steps to do the actual license transfer?

  3. Transfer digital license from old PC to New one.

You would have to first ensure the Digital License is linked to your Microsoft Account. See instructions how to do that. You can then use the Troubleshooter on the new computer after installing Windows 10 to restore the license.

Please note, if your license was upgraded from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 7 license, it is not transferable.
