Windows 10: Unable to update from Windows 10 1909 to 20H2 due to error code 0x80070002 - 0x20007

Hello, I can't update my Windows 10 1909 laptop to 20H2 or 2004. Windows Update keeps giving me the error code 0x80070002 - 0x20007. Please look at the attachment for more information. I have had this problem for 8 months now and I have tried in place upgrades and mounting an ISO. Do I have to update my drivers?? My laptop is a Lenovo Yoga C930

Error 0x80070002 when trying to update Windows

I have been having issues for months with Windows 10 updates failing due to Error 0x80070002 on my gaming laptop. The full message reads:

2019-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4503286) -Error 0x80070002.

I am currently on version 1803 (OS Build 17134.590) and I'm being told "You're currently running a version of windows that's nearing the end of support. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security improvements."

I have followed the instructions on Error Code 0x80070002 Fixed – Eassos Step-by-Step Tutorial but this hasn't resolved the problem. Does anybody know how to fix this?

 

0x80070002 error code in windows update

My windows 10 version is Home, 20H2. Build 19042.630I'm trying to download cumulative update KB4592438. I keep getting 0x80070002 error code.






I also ran the windows troubleshooter and it says that it fixed the issue, but I still keep getting the same error. Here's the detailed report.



I also did multiple reboots of my laptop. I ran sfc/scannow but it didn't find any errors. What should I do to resolve this issue?

I have Windows 10 Enterprise v.1909. Unable to install Windows Updates due to error 0x80070002. Here is some info and troubleshooting steps taken so far. These steps were run using a local admin account.

More than 40GB of hard drive space available

Date and time settings are correct.

Windows Update Troubleshooter could not identify the problem.

Renamed SoftwareDistribution folder, which reinstalled the prior updates again but got error 0x80070002 on a few including KB4578974 and KB4577671.

sfc /scannow found corrupt files but not able to repair them.

DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth keeps stalling at 62.3%

Suggestions and resolution are welcomed and most appreciated.
