Windows 10: Unable to update to 'Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909' -Error 0x80070522

Greetings,


So I have been battling to get my machine Win10 1809 up to Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909.


I have a decent spec machine ~2yrs old; so its not a hardware issue. I have nothing connected other than a wireless KB & Mouse and using WiFi.


Tried following the advice found in a couple of forums restart installer related services [wuauserv, cryptsvc, bits, msiserver], restarted; run chkdsk /f; run DISM.


Tried resetting Windows - a total clean-up - and no 3rd party software installed; no 3rd party Anti Virus. Only Windows Defender and new Edge browser.


Still getting:

There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later.
Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909 -Error 0x80070522
it runs to around 95% and then throws the above exception

Event log does not provide much; just that the previous 1809 CU update was successful.


Any ideas out there?
