Windows 10: Unable to update to Windows 10 Version 2004

• I am running Windows 10 Version 1909
• No antivirus, only Windows Defender
• BIOS and drivers are up to date
• Always reaches the 60% mark and then reboots and rolls back. Update history shows error0xC1900101 - x30018
• Have run sfc /scannow - it found errors and fixed them. Update still fails.
• Have been starting in clean boot as per https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows - It has not helped
• Have used the command rundll32.exe pnpclean.dll,RunDLL_PnpClean /DRIVERS /MAXCLEAN in an elevated command prompt - appears to do nothing and has not helped.
• Have used Update Assistant and the Media Creation Tool, error is the same, MCT reports:
  0xC1900101 - x30018
  The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_SPECIALIZE operation
  
  I have looked at the setupapi.dev.log and surmise that the first block regarding the VirtualBox network adapter that has a! and shows <<< [Exit status: FAILURE0x800f0203] is the culprit, but even going into Device Manager and uninstalling this adapter and checkingDelete the driver software for this device. has not helped. I am waiving the white flag and asking for support so I can get my rig updated.

Having problem update to Windows 10, version 2004
