Windows 10: Unable to update Windows 10 from 1709 to any newer build

I've been stuck on 1709 for the past couple years, since Windows would always rollback in the last stages. In the past couple of days, I tried to update a bunch of times again, but it failed every single time with the error code 0xC1900101-0x20017. I've tried installing from Windows Update, the Window Update Tool, and the installer created by the media creation tool, but updating still continued to fail. I also checked setuperr.log (uploaded for reference at https://pastebin.com/DBsLcebK) , but couldn't find any clear issues relating to the error code. I've tried using sfc scannow and dism to repair issues, disabling Intel VT-X and HyperV, deleting all the update files multiple times to make sure they didn't have issues, and updating every single driver I could find a newer version of, but nothing has changed.


I have too many files and applications, so I really can't clean install, but I figured that someone might be able to figure out what the log file is saying, and be able to help me with the issue.

Thank you for trying to help , i did tried your suggestion but it did not work :/ , nothing seems to make it work on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 1709. In the meantime i have bought a new SoundBlasterX AE-5 and it did installed flawlessly , no problems whatsoever. it is up to Creative ( drivers ) and Microsoft ( bug fix ) to fix this huge bugs with Audio.

That's completely distaster when Windows start to update drivers. You have option to disable Driver updates in Windows 10 newer updates.
Nice because I saw this, now I will not update on 1709 I don't want mess with SBZxR.
I can't look for solution for their halucinations and decisions to Windows install what you want.

 

What is the latest stable build of Win10 ?

If your not willing to run the latest V1803 build then I'd suggest sticking to v1709 from here Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 1709 Download • Windows ISO pick the one most applicable to you
