Windows 10: Unable to update Windows 10 to 1803 or 1809 versions - migrate failure 0x8007042B

Hi,

For ages now I have been unable to update my Dell XPS 9550 laptop to Windows 10 versions 1803 or 1809. Each time it tries, it fails with the error 0x8007042B - 0x4000D: "failed in the SECOND-BOOT phase with an error during the MIGRATE_DATA operation". I cannot face a complete reinstallation given how much useful software I have.

I have tried many recommended techniques to fix the upgrade (DISM, Scannow, etc), but all fail in the same way. There are lots of errors in the setuperr.log file (below) but I cannot tell which of them is stopping the upgrade, and which, if any, are ignored.

I am using the latest downloaded version of 1809 run from a USB stick. I have uninstalled my antivirus program.

Windows has started trying to install 1803 and 1809 alternately every day, and the next update is due soon, so I can't really put off sorting this out for much longer!

Any advice on how to fix the problems in the log file would be greatly appreciated.

Unable to update Windows 10 Pro version 1709 to 1803

Have made several attempts to update Windows 10 version 1709 to the latest version 1803 and have not been successful.

I've done the following per some suggestions found online:

• Updated drivers
• Ran the Trouble Shooter for Windows 10 (Errors found were shown to be "Fixed" per the tool)
• Unplugged the printer

Although not at every attempt, I have received the following errors:

• 0xc1900101
• 0x80070643

Can someone please advise me as to what the errors are and provide me with the steps to update Windows.

Windows 10 October Update-Failed to install on ‎03-‎Oct-‎18 - 0x8007042b

I'm unable to update windows 10 from 1803 version to 1809 October 2018 edition. It is giving the error 'Failed to install on ‎03-‎Oct-‎18 - 0x8007042b', and I think it is because of Intel display drivers. I'm using Intel i5 3rd generation and Intel(R)
HD Graphics 4000 (Version: 10.18.10.4885). And also I'm having the problem of frequent disconnection of Wi-Fi. I don't know after which version update I'm getting this problem. I tried all the methods but unable to solve. Please provide me the solution.
