Windows 10: Unable to update Windows 1803 to Windows 1903/1909 Error 0xC1900101-0x4000D

Hello,

I'm currently having an issue with updating my PC's Windows 10. I have been trying to update it from 1803 to 1903 for a while now, and with 1909 recently out I would like to update that too. However, for the past year or so, I have attempted many times but the update would always reach approximately 86% before undoing changes and reverting the update


I have updated my drivers, run chkdsk, DISM and SFC but still no luck with getting the update through. Also have tried updating with a clean boot.

I also have tried updating through media creation tool as well as using installation media to try to update but the update always fails.

I get the error "0xC1900101-0x4000D The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation".

Also when running setupdiag I get the following error

"Error: SetupDiag reports rollback failure found.

Last Phase = Pre OOBE Boot

Last Operation = OOBE boot apply

Error = 0xC1900101-0x4000D"


Anyone know how I can update successfully? I would really like to avoid a clean update if possible but from the looks of it, it seems like it may be the only option.


My computer specs are

Intel i7-7700k CPU

16.0GB RAM

GTX1070 GPU

Gigabyte z270-hd3 mobo


Also, if any logs are required, please show me how to access them and I will happily provide them

Problems with Windows 10 Upgrade - Error Code 0xC1900101-0x4000D

Unable to upgrade to Windows 10 and receiving Error Code 0xC1900101-0x4000D on two machines:

1) Dell 546 PC currently running Windows 8.1 - Failed in second boot phase with an error during migrate_data operation.

2) Lenovo X201 Laptop currently running Windows 7 - Page fault in non-paged area.

Any suggestions?

Windows 10 update 1903 to 1909 error 0xc1900101

Hello,

I am currently running Windows 10 version 1903 and I try to upgrade to version 1909, but it doesn't matter how many times I try, once the update reaches 100%, it says restore to the previous version of Windows or something, and in The update, History shows
error "0xc1900101".

Any help would be appreciated.

Do let us know:

• Have you connected any external devices except mouse and keyboard to your device?
• What is the complete error code/ error message of this issue?
• Are you able to access the computer?

Step 1: I suggest you to remove all the external devise except mouse and keyboard, hard reboot the computer and check with the status of this issue.

Refer to the section: 0xC1900101-0x4000D - The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation,
perform the troubleshooting steps mentioned if your issue matches with the same.

I would like to infirm that, if you are unable to upgrade to Windows 10, you can use Windows 10 ISO file, create a Media creation tool and try to upgrade your computer.
