Windows 10: Unable to upgrade from Win 10 Pro 1803 to 1903

Hi guys,

Feel like I've tried everything here.

Tried Windows Update. Doesn't work. [Fails to update during the reboot bit, and simply undoes changes]
Tried Windows Update/Upgrade Assistant. [Gets to about 30% during the reboot bit, and simply gives black screen telling me it's undoing the changes]
Tried Windows In-Place-Upgrade (using the Media Creation Tool). [Same as the Update/Upgrade Assistant above]

Not really sure what else to do?

I'm guessing you guys will want some logs from somewhere?

Win 10 1803 to 1903 update

My Desktop computer running Win 10 updated from version 1803 to 1903 a while back, but my Desktop running Win 10 version 1803

I'm assuming the update 1803 to 1903 has now resumed after the earlier problems caused a suspension?

Any thoughts, suggestions?

I have done most of the steps as mentioned in your post.
I have removed all the USB devices, left only the MB, Display Card, SSD (C drive) and Data Drive (D drive).
1) chkdsk c: /scan - normal no bad sector.
2) SFC /scannow





3) BIOS - latest as per in Asus website.
4) C drive free space is about 110GB
5) setuperr.log and CBS.log as attached, setupact.log is about 150MB and not able to attach here.

It happens to Bluescreen appeared after i have left the PC on for about 15 mins after the black screen appear. it shows DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG failure. Not sure is PNP referring to the plug and play display card as I only left this card in the PC system.




Thinking to trying 1809 version but unable to find it in MS website.

 

Unable to adjust screen brightness after Windows 10 Pro 1803 upgrade


I have an old Lenovo T510 laptop running Windows 10 Pro. Yes, I know, it doesn't officially support Windows 10. But I've been running Window 10 Pro on it happily and reliably for quite some time.... Until just now when I upgraded to version 1803.

Right after the upgrade I noticed my screen was very bright. I found that I am unable to adjust it at all using the keyboard brightness controls or the control panel. It's always at 100% bright even though the brightness control slider goes where ever I tell it. I've searched and tried some of the suggestions about uninstalling the driver and reinstalling, etc, but nothing has worked. I'd say the driver has a compatibility issue, but it was working just fine before 1803.

Does anyone have any suggestions on things to try before I take my chances on a roll-back of the 1803 upgrade?
