    Understanding Windows 10 Updates

Hello All; I am a long time Windows user but am only into Windows 10 for eight months so I have plenty to learn. Is it possible to preview updates within “Windows Update” or do I have to refer to Microsoft Update Catalog to get information about individual updates? I prefer to defer updates until after the dust settles based on past experience. I found out this morning, after resuming updates, that hitting
The “Check For Updates” button not only “Checks” but also downloads and installs the latest update. IMHO this is deceptive but I am no longer surprised at anything that MS does since the GWX debacle.

I upgraded to Win10 Pro from Home so I do have more deferal latitude but I would really lke to know more details about the updates that are being offered without having to fight my way throught the Update Catalog. Thanks

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
